Barn Hunt

Barn Hunt is a newer sport in which dogs hunt for rats hiding in tubes hidden in a lot of hay bales.  There are decoy tubes too that don't have rats, but do have rat litter.  While the is not a traditional sport for swissies, Vida, Helix and Arty all love this game.  We are very lucky to have a training and trial location (Lucky Dog Events, New Salem, MA) very close by to our house,  so we attend more barn hunts that we would if we had to travel far.

You didn't expect dog photos on this page, did you?

Some of our pet rats that help out with barn hunt training.

Sometimes they even help out at trials.
