Depending on the swissy, they have different herding aptitudes. We have ducks at home and a regulation sized field and take weekly lessons. Fender is training for AKC herding intermediate A course. The A course involves an outrun to collect the stock and driving through numerous obstacles.
AKC herding: Fender and Fury both have a Pre-Trial Tested title and Fender has completed his Herding Started Title (with 2 High in Trials).
AHBA herding: Fender and Fury both have a Junior Herding Dog title.
ASCA herding: Fender and Fury both have legs in started on cattle, sheep and ducks.
The courses and required elements are different for the 3 herding organizations, what is available locally depends on your area.
